From Downtown Vancouver to Burnaby, Richmond, and North Vancouver, our courses are trusted by workplaces, schools, and families that want reliable, practical CPR and AED instruction.
What is CPR and AED Training
CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. It is a set of actions that help keep blood and oxygen flowing through a person’s body when their heart has stopped beating effectively.
An AED, or Automated External Defibrillator, is a small portable device that can deliver a controlled electric shock to help restart the hearts regular rythym. AEDs are now found in airports, gyms, shopping centers, and many workplaces across British Columbia.
CPR and AED training teaches participants how to recognize cardiac arrest, call for help, begin chest compressions, use an AED, and continue care until paramedics arrive. These skills can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival.
Why CPR and AED Training is Essential in Vancouver
Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in Canada. It can happen to anyone at any age. In a busy city like Vancouver, where thousands of people commute, work, and exercise every day, the ability to perform CPR and use an AED is invaluable.
Even if emergency services are quick to respond, the first few minutes are critical. Bystanders who begin CPR immediately can keep oxygen flowing to the brain and vital organs until professional help takes over.
Learning CPR and AED use is not just for medical workers. It is an essential skill for:
- Construction and industrial workers
- Security guards and hospitality staff
- Parents and childcare workers
- Coaches, trainers, and lifeguards
- Teachers and school staff
- Office employees and community volunteers
Being ready means you can make a difference at work, at home, or anywhere in the community.
CPR and AED Training in Every Course
At Fundamental First Aid, we believe that CPR and AED training should be part of every first aid program, not an extra add-on. That is why every course we offer includes CPR and AED practice as part of its certification.
When you train with us, you will receive instruction using modern AED trainers and realistic CPR mannequins that give instant feedback on compression depth and speed. You will practice until you feel confident performing the steps without hesitation.
